Privacy Policy
Game Content Warnings (Unofficial) is a Twitch panel extension that shows content warnings for the game a channel is streaming, using data from DoesTheDogDie.com. It is an unofficial project operated by cyber31415, not affiliated with or endorsed by DoesTheDogDie.com. This policy explains what the extension handles and why. In short: we don't collect information about viewers.
What we receive
- From Twitch, with every request: a signed token containing the channel's ID, your role (viewer or broadcaster) and an anonymous, Twitch-generated viewer ID. We use the channel ID to look up the game being streamed. We do not store or log the anonymous viewer ID, and the extension never asks you to share your Twitch identity.
- Your IP address, as with any web request. It is used briefly in memory to limit abusive traffic and is not stored.
What we store
- Per channel: the channel ID, when the extension was first and last used on it, and the ID of its Twitch category-change subscription, needed to show the right warnings and to receive Twitch's notification when the channel changes category.
- Broadcaster corrections: if a broadcaster picks a different DoesTheDogDie entry for a game, that choice (game ID and entry ID) is saved in Twitch's Extension Configuration Service for that channel, with a copy in our server's cache.
- Public game data: Twitch category names and DoesTheDogDie content-warning data, cached to keep the extension fast. Cached DoesTheDogDie data is refreshed and never kept longer than 30 days.
We do not use cookies, advertising, analytics or tracking, and we do not sell or share personal information. The panel uses no cookies or local storage; your browser may briefly keep responses in its normal HTTP cache.
Third parties
- Twitch runs the extension platform: Twitch Privacy Notice.
- DoesTheDogDie.com supplies the warning data. Our server requests game data from it; no information about viewers is sent.
- Our server host processes requests on our behalf.
Retention and deletion
Channel records and corrections are deleted on request. Server logs record the requested page or API path and the result, plus channel and game IDs when something goes wrong; they contain no viewer identifiers or IP addresses and are kept for a short period for troubleshooting. To have a channel's data removed, email CyberSpaceman09@proton.me.
Children
The extension is available to anyone who can use Twitch under Twitch's own age rules. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone.
